Evangelion (whichever is playing on Anime OnDemand right now...I think Genesis): Tells the post-apocolyptic story of a 13 yo boy who is one of the few who can control (via mind meldiness) the giant robots that fight the "Angels" which are almost invincible alien giant robots. yay... Well, Evangelion....the two female characters, Asuka, and Rei, are the subject of considerable fan-porn in Japan here...As for the story, you will get strange nosebleeds and recurring headaches trying to understand why the characters are so messed up, and it's all so bloody futile. If you want decent characters with some mecha, the perfect girl/boy blend is Escaflowne, though it gets a bit trippy towards the end. I had to watch it twice, but thoroughly enjoyed it both times.
