Since coming to Japan, I've taken myself out of the cultural loop that is North American culture. And there have been times when I grew so starved for the sight of English, I'd re-read the few books I had over and over, as I lived far off from Tokyo at the time. Lo and behold, web comics saved my life and sanity! Today, I bring you Ugly Hill by Paul Southworth. What do I like about it? Witty storylines, clear and stylish drawing style, bright colours, and a lack of the usual comic reliance on jokes about seasons or current political affairs. Folks, don;t take my word for it...the comic starts off well, and only gets better, particularly the artwork. - Katherine , posted 08/20/07 |
